Josh Espinosa

Assistant Vice President for RPI Ventures

Joshua directs the institute’s venture and technology transactions arm. Before joining RPI, Joshua was Senior Counsel and second-ranked attorney at Wrike, a California-based cloud software company. Earlier, Joshua was a Lecturer in Business Law at the University of Miami and a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate at Jones Day in New York City. Joshua also serves as Co-Chair of the Advisory Council for the AnBryce Foundation, a private foundation based in Washington D.C. Joshua received his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, where he was an AnBryce Scholar, William Randolph Hearts Scholar, Executive Editor of the Journal of Law & Business, and winner of the Christian Jarecki Memorial Prize. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Florida. 

Kennedy Nyairo

Associate Director, IPTL Licensing

Kennedy directs end-to-end technology transfer functions, including invention disclosure, intellectual property protection, marketing, and commercialization. With over 20 years of experience in technology commercialization, business development, and product management, Kennedy has held key positions at esteemed institutions such as MIT, the University of Arizona's James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences, Bell Labs, Intelsat, Techquity Capital Management, IPValue Management, and British Technology Group (BTG). He holds a PhD in Optoelectronics from the University of Cambridge and an MBA in Finance and Business Strategy from Georgetown University. Kennedy is fluent in English and German. 

Doug Robinson
Douglas W. Robinson
Intellectual Property Manager

Doug is an experienced patent attorney with 40 years of experience. He earned a BSEE degree from RPI in 1983, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Cardozo School of Law in 1986. Doug is a member of the Maryland, D.C. and Patent Bars. He spent 20 years as outside counsel in law firms in D.C, Virginia and Massachusetts. In 2000 he became in-house counsel at Infineon Technologies. Subsequently, Doug was employed by Lenovo where he became the Executive Director of Intellectual Property. Doug has experience in drafting patent applications, patent litigation, trademarks, and open source. Doug is an avid hockey fan and played ice hockey for 35 years and enjoys woodworking.

Natasha is a pivotal leader in evaluating, protecting, promoting, and licensing RPI technology. Her extensive experience encompasses asset management and stakeholder engagement for significant impact.

Christie Ann Miranda
Christie Ann Miranda
Business Administrator

Christine Ann has years of experience in different fields of accounting. As a Business Administrator, she oversees the financial operations of IPTL and ensures accuracy in financial data and timely reporting. An MBA candidate from RPI and a holder of bachelor’s degree in accounting from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She loves learning and seeing self-progress. “I know I can do more if I know more”. 

Jackie Bond
Jackie Bond
Administrative Coordinator

Jackie has been with Rensselaer since August 2008, initially working part-time at Student Health Services before transitioning to a full-time role as Operations Associate in October 2008. In January 2022, she became the Administrative Associate for the Office of Naval Science, earning a Commanding Officer’s Letter of Commendation in April 2023. She joined the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing as Administrative Coordinator in December 2024.

She holds an associate degree in business management from Mildred Elley. A lifelong resident of the Troy, NY area, she enjoys home projects, travel, outdoor activities, and reading. She also provides pet care for friends and neighbors and hopes to adopt another rescue dog in the future.
